It’s best to avoid showering immediately before your appointment. Your skin will remain too hydrated and will not provide you with the best results. Showering a minimum of 4 hours before your session is acceptable if you must shower the day of your appointment, but be sure your skin is clean, dry, and free from any products for optimal results.
Are there any products I should avoid wearing or using the day of my tan?
Yes, avoid deodorant, makeup, perfume, and moisturizers, as these can create uneven results or discoloration.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear loose-fitting, dark-colored clothing to your appointment. Avoid tight clothing or undergarments that may rub against your skin and cause streaking.

After Your Appointment
What should I do immediately after my spray tan?
After your session, wear loose, dark clothing to avoid smudging your tan and refrain from wearing a bra or tight-fitting items until after your first rinse. Avoid any activities that could cause sweating, such as working out or spending time outdoors in hot weather. Keep your skin dry and avoid getting wet from swimming, showering, or other activities. Also, be sure to keep pets from licking or jumping on your skin, as this can disrupt the developing tan.
When should I rinse off after my spray tan?
Your technician will provide you with a specific timeframe, usually between 2-4 hours after your appointment, to rinse off with water only. It is very important to follow this timeframe for optimal results, as rinsing too early or too late can affect the final color of your tan. Use lukewarm water and rinse thoroughly, including behind your ears and the back of your legs, to remove the bronzer. Avoid scrubbing, using soap, or rubbing your skin with a washcloth during this rinse.
What should I expect during the first rinse?
During your first rinse, you may notice some color washing off—this is just the cosmetic bronzer and is completely normal. The actual tan will continue to develop over the next 8 hours. After rinsing, you may feel like your color has disappeared, but don’t worry—your tan will appear as it develops fully.

No, only rinse with water during your initial rinse. Avoid using soap, loofahs, or any products on your skin until your first full shower the following day. This helps the tan set evenly and ensures the best results.
When can I take a regular shower?
You can take a regular shower the day after your appointment. At this time, you can use gentle, tan-safe body wash products and pat your skin dry instead of rubbing it with a towel.

After your first shower, apply a tan-safe body lotion or body butter generously to keep your skin hydrated and extend the life of your tan. Moisturizing twice daily is recommended for optimal results. Avoid products with harsh chemicals, oils, or exfoliating agents that can strip your tan.
Will the spray tan stain my clothing or bedding?
The initial bronzer may transfer to clothing or bedding, but it should wash out of most fabrics. To minimize transfer, wear loose, dark-colored clothing after your appointment and consider using dark-colored bedding until your first shower.

During Your Appointment

For those who prefer coverage, you can wear your undergarments, swimsuits, or disposable items we provide. Keep in mind that anything you wear during the session will leave tan lines and be exposed to the tanning solution.

You can dress to your comfort level during the spray tan. Many clients choose to wear dark, disposable undergarments, swimsuits, or even go without clothing to avoid tan lines. We also provide disposable items upon request.
Will anyone else be in the room during my appointment?
Spray tanning sessions are private, with only you and your technician present. This ensures your comfort and allows for a focused, professional application.
What is the spray tanning process like?
Once you’re ready, the technician will guide you to the tanning area and step out of the room to allow you to undress to your level of comfort. When the technician returns, they will provide you with a lotion to act as a barrier on areas prone to over-developing, such as your hands, elbows, and heels. They’ll give you clear directions on how and where to apply it.
Next, the technician will use a spray gun or airbrush system to apply the tanning solution evenly across your body. During the process, they will ask you to adjust your positioning or posture slightly to ensure even coverage. The tanning solution will be applied to each area of the body twice. The application process is quick, typically taking about 10-15 minutes.
After the tan is applied, the technician will use alcohol pads to remove any excess tanning solution from your palms, fingernails, toenails, and the arches of your feet. They will then apply a light drying powder to help set the tan and reduce any sticky feeling. Finally, you’ll stand in front of a fan to allow the tan to dry before getting dressed in loose, dark clothing.
Do I need to wear protective items during the session?
For your safety and comfort, we provide optional protective items such as nose filters and disposable thongs. Let your technician know if you’d like to use any of these items.
